Hi, I’m Peach Villacarlos.
Married 33 years. Mom to two adult children, a cat, and a dog. Adult-onset athlete. Long-distance mountain, ultra, and trail runner. Beginner gardener. Marketing professional.
Discovered running in my 40s, finished my first 5K race in 2010, and quickly progressed to running longer distances — 10K and half marathon (13.1 miles) in 2011, then the marathon (26.2 miles) in 2012. I never dreamed I would run any further than 26.2 miles, but in March 2016, I finished my first ultramathon, Way Too Cool 50K. I realized this was my thing. I fell in love with ultrarunning.
To date, I’ve completed 48 utramarathons, 18 marathons, 105 half marathons, and countless more races at various distances.
Running has taken me to places around the world I’ve never imagined visiting. It’s challenged me physically and mentally, and allowed me to experience incredible highs and lows. And it’s introduced me to an entire community that motivates, inspires, and uplifts me.
It’s been an amazing 12-year journey so far, and I look forward to more years of running adventures.
This blog is my way of memorializing some of these experiences, as well as hopefully, share some useful nuggets to others who are also on a similar journey.
Thanks for reading!
